Louisa May Alcott was an American writer, born in 1832 in Pennsylvania. She is best known for her novel Little Women, which became one of the most popular books in English literature. The novel is partly based on Alcott’s own family and childhood.

Alcott also wrote other novels, short stories, and poems. During the American Civil War, she worked as a nurse and later wrote about her experiences. Her books often show strong, independent girls and women.

Louisa May Alcott died in 1888, but her work is still read and loved by many people all over the world.
