Jeff Kinney is an American author and cartoonist, best known for the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. He was born on February 19, 1971, in Fort Washington, Maryland, USA. Before becoming a full-time writer, Kinney worked on online games and later created the comic strip Igdoof.
His first Diary of a Wimpy Kid book was published in 2007 and quickly became very popular with children and teenagers. The series tells the funny stories of Greg Heffley, a middle school student, and includes many books such as Rodrick Rules, The Last Straw, Dog Days, and The Long Haul.
Jeff Kinney has also written other books, including Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid, which is connected to the same world as Diary of a Wimpy Kid. His books are known for their humour, simple language, and comic-style illustrations.
