• choose a nice restaurant and ask your parents to book a table there;
• buy tickets for a good concert or play and invite your parents.

Customer: Good afternoon. I’d like to buy Christmas gifts for my family. Could you advise me what I can buy?
Shop assistant: Of course. We have nice souvenirs, Christmas decorations, mugs, candles and small gift sets.
Customer: That sounds good. How much do these things cost?
Shop assistant: The prices are different. Small souvenirs cost from 5 to 10 pounds, gift sets cost about 15 pounds, and decorations are from 3 pounds.
Customer: How can my relatives use some of them?
Shop assistant: Mugs and candles can be used every day, and Christmas decorations will make the house look festive.
Customer: What Christmas gifts are most popular with shoppers?
Shop assistant: The most popular gifts are Christmas decorations, scented candles, mugs and small souvenir sets.
Customer: Thank you. I’ll take some decorations, candles and a gift set.
B.
Mother: We need to decide how to organize a surprise party for Dad. What do you think is the best idea?
Daughter: I think cooking something nice at home is the best option. We can set the table beautifully and invite our family and friends to dinner.
Mother: That’s a good idea, but it will take a lot of time.
Daughter: True, but it will be warm and personal. Dad will really enjoy it.
Mother: What about having a picnic?
Daughter: It’s a nice idea, but the weather may be bad. A restaurant is easier, but it is less special. Concert tickets are interesting too, but Dad may prefer spending time with the family.
Mother: I agree. Let’s cook at home and invite everyone.
Daughter: Great! Then we’ll prepare everything together.
