1. The Best Friend of Mine
My best friend is Alex. He is sixteen years old and he is a school student. We became friends three years ago when we started studying in the same class. At first, we just talked during breaks, but soon we found out that we had a lot in common.
Alex is tall and slim, with short fair hair and kind blue eyes. He is very friendly, honest and reliable. He is always ready to help and never leaves his friends in trouble. We often spend our free time together, playing football, listening to music or just talking.
I regard him as my best friend because I can trust him completely. He understands me well and supports me in difficult situations. I am sure that true friendship is very important, and I am happy to have such a wonderful friend.
2. Teenagers and Money
Money is important for teenagers because it helps them buy the things they need and want. Most teenagers spend their money on clothes, snacks, mobile phone top-ups, books, games and entertainment. Pocket money can come from parents, grandparents or other relatives. Some teenagers also get money for helping at home.
I think allowances are useful because they teach teenagers to manage money wisely. It is a good idea to give children a fixed amount regularly, so they can learn to plan their spending. At the same time, teenagers should understand that money is not easy to earn.
It is possible for teenagers to earn money, for example, by doing small jobs, helping neighbours, babysitting or working during holidays. This has both pros and cons. On the one hand, teenagers learn responsibility and value money more. On the other hand, work may take too much time and affect their studies. In my opinion, teenagers can earn money, but school should always come first.
3. The House Chores I Dislike Most of All
In my family, house chores are shared among all family members. My parents usually do the bigger jobs, while my brother and I help with the daily chores. I do my house chores in the evening or at weekends, and it usually takes about one or two hours.
I am responsible for tidying my room, washing the dishes, taking out the rubbish and sometimes vacuuming the floor. I do not like washing the dishes and cleaning the bathroom most of all. These chores are boring and tiring, and I often feel unhappy when I have to do them.
However, I understand that housework is necessary. When everything is clean and tidy, I feel much better, even if I do not enjoy doing it.
