Task 1

Having a hobby or playing a sport is very healthy because it helps people stay active, reduce stress and feel happier. It is also important to find time to relax and socialise with others, because good relationships and rest are necessary for a balanced life. Some hobbies, such as playing a musical instrument or reading books, can be educational too, since they develop memory, concentration and knowledge.

As for me, I enjoy reading books and listening to music. Reading is interesting because it helps me learn new things and improves my vocabulary. I also like walking and spending time with my friends, because it helps me relax and have fun.

Task 2

A: I think we should choose one event for the Arts Festival. What do you think about the options?

B: Well, the classical music concert sounds elegant, but not everyone may enjoy it.

A: True. The talk on the history of art could be interesting and educational, but it might be a bit serious.

B: I agree. The night of showing films would probably attract more students.

A: Yes, but an exhibition of students’ photographs would be special because it would show our own talent.

B: That’s a good point. It would also be more personal and creative.

A: So, shall we choose the exhibition of students’ photographs?

B: Yes, I think that’s the best choice.
