Tyrannosaurus Rex was one of the largest meat-eating dinosaurs. It lived about 68–66 million years ago, at the end of the Cretaceous period. T. rex had a huge head, sharp teeth, strong legs, and tiny arms. It could run fast and was a powerful predator.

Scientists believe that T. rex hunted other dinosaurs and also ate dead animals. Its teeth were very strong and could crush bones. T. rex became extinct when a huge asteroid hit the Earth and the climate changed.

Other extinct animals include the mammoth and the dodo. Mammoths were large, hairy elephants that lived in cold areas. Dodos were flightless birds that lived on Mauritius. Both animals disappeared because of climate change and human activity.
