Final essay
Many teenagers nowadays belong to different groups and subcultures, such as Goths, hippies, emos and punks. Some people believe that teenage groups have a negative influence on young people, while others think that they help teenagers find friends and express their individuality.
To begin with, belonging to a group can be interesting and enjoyable. Teenagers can spend their free time with people who share their interests and hobbies. For example, they can listen to music, discuss their favourite books or take part in creative activities together. Moreover, a group can give its members support and help them feel understood. Some young people also join charity organisations or environmental projects, which are useful for society.
However, there are also some disadvantages. Teenagers sometimes have to accept the values and beliefs of their group. They may be influenced by bad company and acquire harmful habits such as smoking or drinking alcohol. In addition, some groups can be aggressive and behave violently. Their appearance and actions may shock other people and cause conflicts with parents or teachers.
In conclusion, belonging to a group has both advantages and disadvantages. I believe that teenage groups are not always harmful. If young people choose a friendly and positive group, it can help them develop their talents, make new friends and become more confident.
