B. The guinea pig

The guinea pig was domesticated in pre-Incan times. It was brought to Europe soon after the discovery of America. At first, it was kept as a popular pet. Later, it became a valuable research animal.

C. Camels

Camels are valued as pack or riding animals. They are also used for their wool, milk, skin and meat. They live only in domestication. Their feet enable them to walk on sand and snow. They can eat thorny plants and dried grasses. Camels store fat in their humps, so they can go without eating and drinking for a few days.
