Six teenagers are talking about the responsibilities and household chores they perform in their families.
1) Which of these words could the teenagers use talking about the responsibilities, the household chores and their attitude towards them? What do you think? Find out the meaning of the highlighted words on p. 209.
Household chores: time-consuming, dreadful, stressful, pointless, tiring, dull, never-ending, dirty, messy, important, doing the laundry, doing the ironing, working in the garden, tidying the bedroom, washing the dishes, dusting, vacuum cleaning, cleaning the bathroom, cleaning the car, babysitting, doing the shopping, doing repair works, helping with cooking.
2) Look through the statements (1—7). Find the key words which can help you to choose which speaker each statement belongs to.

I do the washing-up, tidy my room and sometimes help with shopping. I think these chores are useful, but not very pleasant. My parents do not pay me for them, because they think everyone in the family should help. I usually spend my money on books, snacks or small things I like.
