1) The good points about being old are that elderly people do not have to work, have more time for hobbies and can share their experience and advice. The bad points are illness, loneliness, financial problems and dependence on other people.
2) My opinion is close to the author’s. Old age has both advantages and disadvantages, but it can be a good time for rest, communication and helping younger people.
3) While some elderly people see only bad points in being old, some other people do not feel any disadvantages.
