Please don’t get me wrong, I personally still choose to lounge on the beach. You can call it a slow-paced type of travel. I look forward to not to being bothered with school tasks and everyday chores. I enjoy spending holidays with my parents and having the time away from all those stressful things. What a wonderful feeling to lie on the beach with no cares in the world! From our journeys we always bring fond memories and awesome pictures. So, I’d prefer a trip to a remote seaside resort. It would help me to feel at ease and come back to my everyday activities with a clear mind.

The way of travelling varies not only among people, but also from year to year for any person. Take our family for example. Some time ago, our ideal travelling experience was a week at a seaside resort. Okay, it was until the time when we decided to go on a cruise with my uncle and aunt. Then we understood what opportunities we had deprived ourselves of. We were involved in so many activities we had never tried before. I’ve never seen my parents more relaxed than while on the sea voyage! Now, if you ask my mum, her ideal travelling experience would still be that week at the beach, and she considers herself fulfilled and relaxed if she doesn’t have to do the laundry, cook dinner or do the dishes for a week. But at the same time we’d like to go, see and do anything and everything available at each travel destination we choose. If there is a museum, we visit it. If there is a coach tour or an excursion, we take it. If there is a landmark, we see it. You get the idea. This is why I know how to ride a horse and make cheese. I’m sure all the skills I’ve got from our trips will come in handy someday.

Families want to draw closer together, friends as well. A good way to challenge our relationships is by doing something adventurous. Hiking is the way to go. My family adores hiking. Of course, hiking has its pros and cons. Usually there is no comfortable accommodation. And your clothes might get dirty and wet. Well, actually hiking is a lot of work. But really, you can learn a lot about those you’re with. You see emotions you didn’t know the people had, you see how they conquer their fears and handle certain difficulties that happen along the way. The adventure is what I look forward to on a hike. Choosing a route, no matter how remote the destination is, brings me excitement. Then I return refreshed and ready to face new challenges.
