People complain about different things. Look at the pictures on pp. 131–132. What are these people complaining about? How do they express their complaints? Where do the conversations take place? (listening for detail/taking notes)

They are complaining about different everyday problems, such as noise, bad service, uncomfortable conditions, or somebody’s rude behaviour.

They express their complaints politely, for example with phrases like “I’m sorry, but…”, “Could you please…?”, “I’m afraid…”, and “Would you mind…?”

The conversations take place in different public places, for example in a shop, a café, on the street, or in other everyday situations.
