I usually see my friends almost every day after school, and at weekends we often meet in the park, at the sports ground or in a café. We like spending time together because we can talk, relax and have fun.

Our favourite places in our town are the park and the cinema. We choose the park because it is quiet and beautiful, and the cinema because we enjoy watching new films there.

We usually discuss school, exams, future plans and our hobbies. Sometimes we complain about too much homework, lack of free time and bad weather.

2) Role-play

Student 1: My parents have some rules at home. For example, I get pocket money only if I help with housework. I can watch TV for a limited time, and I have to be home by 10 o’clock. I think some of these rules are too strict, especially the curfew. I’m not a little child, so I should be allowed to come home later sometimes. What rules do you have at home?

Student 2: At my home, the rules are quite similar. I also have to help with housework, and my parents don’t let me watch TV for too long. But I think the curfew is reasonable because it is for my safety. Why do you think your parents are too strict?

Student 1: Because I usually come home on time and I always tell them where I am. I also think that clothes should be my own choice, but my parents often comment on what I wear.

Student 2: I understand you. My parents also care about my clothes, but I don’t mind it very much. As for music, I can listen to it, but not loudly. I think that is fair.

Student 1: Yes, maybe. Still, I would like to have a little more freedom.
