IN YOUR CULTURE

Most of the rights you have depend on your age and are determined by the law. What age limits are there in your country? Compare them with those in the UK.

In my country, most rights also depend on age and are determined by law.

• You can usually get a passport at 14.
• You can leave school at 16.
• You can get a driving licence at 18.
• You can vote at 18.
• You can buy alcohol at 18.

Compared with the UK, the age limits are mostly similar. In both countries, people can vote and get a driving licence at 18, but some other rights may be different.
