Describe any interesting celebration you have participated in. Remember to talk about:

I’d like to describe the Victory Day celebration I took part in last year.
It took place on May 9th in our town square. Many people came there: veterans, schoolchildren, teachers, parents and other residents. The celebration was devoted to Victory Day, the day when we remember the end of the Great Patriotic War.
The event started with a solemn parade and a concert. Then people laid flowers at the memorial, listened to songs and watched performances. In the evening there was a fireworks display. The celebration developed from a quiet ceremony into a bright and moving holiday.
The most important thing about this type of celebration is that it helps people remember history and show respect to those who fought for peace.
I was deeply impressed by the atmosphere. It was both joyful and touching, and I will always remember that day.
