There are a lot of ways to spend a day of fun with the family. Study any two photographs on p. 76. Compare and contrast the photographs:
- give a brief description of the photos (action, location);
- say what the pictures have in common;
- say in what way the pictures are different;
- say which kind of a family outing you’d prefer;
- explain why.
Here is a possible answer:
The first photo shows a family having a picnic in the countryside. They are sitting on the grass and enjoying their meal together. The second photo shows a family spending time at an amusement park. They are riding a roller coaster and having fun.
Both pictures show families spending time together and enjoying a day out. In both photos, the people look happy and relaxed.
However, the photos are different in location and activity. In the first picture, the family is in a quiet natural place, while in the second one they are in a noisy and exciting amusement park. The first outing is calm, but the second one is more active and thrilling.
I would prefer the picnic in the countryside because I like peaceful places and spending time outdoors with my family.
