Thanks for your e-mail. I’m glad to help you with your quiz “Across Russia”. Russia is a federal semi-presidential republic. The Russian Constitution was adopted on December 12, 1993. The Government sits in the White House, and the President works in the Kremlin.

The word Duma comes from the Russian verb to think, so it means “thought” or “council”. The Federal Assembly is the Russian parliament, and it consists of two chambers: the State Duma and the Federation Council. So, yes, the Federal Council is one of the parts of the Federal Assembly.
