1) Speaking
In my country, we have a mixed health care system. There is a public health care service, and many people can get medical help free of charge or at a low cost. I think this system is quite good, because it gives most people access to doctors and hospitals.
At the same time, there is also private medical care. Private clinics are usually faster and more comfortable, but they are expensive, so not everyone can use them. The public system has some disadvantages too: sometimes people have to wait a long time to see a specialist.
For example, if a person feels ill, they can go to a local clinic and see a doctor. In serious cases, an ambulance can take the patient to a hospital. From my own experience, I know that it is easy to get help in an emergency, but sometimes it takes time to make an appointment with a specialist.
2) Role-play
Student 1: I think free medical care and education are the most important benefits in a welfare state. They help people live better and make society fairer. For example, if a family has a low income, they can still get medical help.
Student 2: I agree that medical care is necessary. I also think unemployment benefits are important, because people need support when they lose their jobs.
Student 1: Yes, I agree. But I think some benefits can be excluded, for example, too many unnecessary subsidies. The state should help people who really need support.
Student 2: I partly agree. Some benefits are not essential, but the most important ones should stay in the system.
