1) In Russia, many important inventions were made. For example, the radio was invented by Alexander Popov in 1895. The periodic table was created by Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869. The first artificial satellite, Sputnik 1, was launched in 1957 by Soviet scientists. The first man in space, Yuri Gagarin, flew into space in 1961.

2) I learned about several fads and myths that people often believe as facts, for example that sugar makes children hyperactive, that we use only 10% of our brains, and that lightning never strikes the same place twice.
