Fourteen per cent of Americans live below the poverty level, $16,700 a year for a family of four. Among the poor there are a lot of homeless people. To “fill their empty cups” the homeless bear different signs.

1. What are some of these signs?
2. The homeless asking for money raise difficult questions: To give or not to give? If yes, how much and to whom? Answer these questions and say why you think so.

1. Some of the signs are: “Homeless and hungry”, “Please help”, “Need money for food”, “Anything helps”.

2. I think it is right to give money to homeless people if you can afford it, but it is better to give a small amount or buy food and water instead of giving a lot of cash. I would help people who really seem to need support, because they are in a very difficult situation.
