Photos on pp. 188–189 show different ways how people spend their holidays. Compare and contrast the first photo on p. 188 and the photo on p. 189: give a brief description of the photos (action, location); say what the photos have in common; say in what way the photos are different; say which way of spending holidays you would prefer; explain why.

The first photo on p. 188 shows people relaxing on a beach by the sea. They are lying in the sun and enjoying their holiday. The photo on p. 189 shows people spending their holiday in the mountains. They are hiking and enjoying nature.

Both photos show people having a holiday and spending their free time outdoors. In both cases, they are trying to relax and have a good time.

The main difference is the place and the kind of activity. In the first photo, people are отдыхing on the seaside, while in the second one they are active and moving in the mountains.

I would prefer the holiday in the mountains because I like active rest, fresh air and beautiful views. It is more exciting for me than lying on the beach.
