1) The activities that will probably work better on girls are the more romantic and emotional ones, for example flowers, compliments, and attention. For boys, active and funny things may work better, for example jokes, sports, and a cheerful attitude.
2) I would try being friendly, funny, and attentive at once. I would never follow advice that is rude, dishonest, or too pushy.
