1) Some facts from the life of the English-speaking countries can also be applied to Russia. For example, the climate influences people’s clothes, food, work and leisure. In the northern regions people need warm houses, warm clothes and special transport. Geography also affects trade, travel and the way people spend their free time.

2) Russia is the largest country in the world, so people live in very different natural conditions. In the north it is very cold, while in the south it is much warmer. Many Russian people live far from the sea, so long-distance transport is very important. Rivers, forests, mountains and huge distances influence people’s occupations, settlement and everyday life. The climate also makes people strong, patient and hardworking.
