a) Teacher — Parent

Teacher: I’m afraid I have some complaints about your child’s progress. His/her marks are rather bad at the moment. Also, there was a recent argument about wearing earrings and make-up to school. Besides, he/she has missed five classes in my subject.

Parent: I’m sorry to hear that. I’ll talk to my child about the marks and the missed classes. As for the earrings and make-up, I’ll make sure he/she follows the school rules.

b) Parent — Pupil

Parent: Your teacher complained about your bad marks, the argument about wearing earrings and make-up to school, and your missing classes.

Pupil: I understand. I’m sorry for my behaviour. I’ll try to improve my marks, attend all the classes, and follow the school rules.
