V. WRITING
You’ve received a letter from your English-speaking pen friend Vicky who writes:
Not long ago I went to watch a new action-adventure film. But it turned out to be terrible. The plot was banal; the cast was not very good. Great disappointment!
Do you like to go to the cinema? Why? What was the last film that you watched? What did you like and dislike about the film?
You know I am not fond of theatre, but my parents took me to watch one of the Russian theatre performances which is on tour in London now.
Write a letter to Vicky. In your letter answer her questions and ask 3 questions about her visit to the theatre. Write 100—140 words. Remember the rules of letter writing.
Dear Vicky,
Thanks for your letter. I’m sorry that the film you watched was so disappointing. I like going to the cinema because it is a good way to relax and enjoy a story on a big screen. The last film I watched was an adventure film. I liked the exciting plot and special effects, but I didn’t like the ending because it was too predictable.
As for the theatre performance, I hope you enjoyed it. Was the play interesting? Who did you go there with? Did you like the actors’ performance?
Write back soon.
Best wishes,
Alex
