Упр.48 Unit 3 ГДЗ English Михеева 10 класс
Приведем выдержку из задания из учебника Михеева, Афанасьева 10 класс, Просвещение: 48 The Finnish philosopher, Georg Henrik von Wright, came to a deep, pessimistic conclusion that «man places competition before morality,… economy before ecology which will Iead to man’s own annihilation». Comment on his words and say: • on what points you can agree with the scholar and why; • what points seem to you rather doubtful or difficult to agree with. *Цитирирование части задания со ссылкой на учебник производится исключительно в учебных целях для лучшего понимания разбора решения задания.
Georg Henrik von Wright’s words sound rather pessimistic, but I think they contain a lot of truth. In many countries people really do put competition before morality and economy before ecology. As a result, nature is polluted, natural resources are wasted, and many people care more about profit than about human values.
I can agree with the scholar that modern society often ignores moral principles and the environment. If people continue to think only about money and success, this may lead to serious problems for future generations.
At the same time, I find his conclusion too gloomy. Not all people are selfish, and not all countries choose profit over morality. Today many people and organizations try to protect nature, support charity and develop green technologies. So, although the problem is real, I do not think man’s annihilation is inevitable.
