I am writing to apply for the position of Junior Chef that was advertised in this week’s edition of The Times.

I am 20 years old and presently studying for an NVQ in Food Preparation at Henley College. For this reason, I would really like to gain some practical experience over the summer before I start my final year studies.

I have 8 GCSEs including Maths and English and have also helped out in a small Italian restaurant for the past 2 years.

I have always been interested in cooking and my greatest ambition is to become a respected chef one day. My teachers describe me as committed and reliable.
