Stative verbs are verbs that describe states, feelings, thoughts, possession, senses, etc., not actions.

Examples from Ex. 1a that are stative verbs: know, believe, love, hate, want, need, prefer, understand, remember, seem, belong, own, like.

An example of a stative verb in a continuous form is: I’m loving it.

This means the verb love is used in a special, informal way to show a temporary feeling or reaction, not a permanent state.
