Discrimination is treating people unfairly because of their race, gender, age, religion, disability, appearance or social background. It means judging someone not by their character or abilities, but by differences that should not matter.

There are many examples of discrimination. For example, some people are refused jobs because of their age or gender. Others are bullied at school because of the way they look, the language they speak or the country they come from. People with disabilities may also face unfair treatment in public places, at work or in education.

We can fight discrimination by respecting other people and learning to accept differences. Schools should teach students about equality and human rights. We should speak up when we see unfair behaviour and support those who are treated badly. Laws are also important, because they protect people from discrimination and punish those who break the rules.

In conclusion, discrimination is harmful and unfair. If we want a better society, we must treat everyone with respect and make sure that all people have equal rights and opportunities.
