Nowadays people often cut down trees to build houses, roads and factories, but this causes serious environmental problems.
On the one hand, cutting down trees can be useful. First, it gives people land for farming and construction. Second, wood is needed to make furniture, paper and many other products. Without logging, some industries would not be able to work normally.
On the other hand, there are many disadvantages. Trees produce oxygen and help keep the air clean, so when forests disappear, the environment becomes worse. In addition, many animals lose their natural homes and may die out. Another problem is that fewer trees can lead to soil erosion and climate change.
In conclusion, I believe that cutting down trees should be strictly controlled. People need forests, but they must use them wisely and plant new trees to replace the ones that are cut down.
