Lake Baikal Protected Area

Lake Baikal is in Siberia, in the east of Russia. It is one of the most famous protected areas in our country. Many rare plants and animals live there, including the Baikal seal, which is found nowhere else in the world.

However, the area has some problems. Pollution, litter and too many tourists can damage the environment. Forest fires are also a serious danger.

Tourists can help by not leaving rubbish, staying on marked paths, saving water and respecting nature. If everyone behaves responsibly, this beautiful place will stay safe for future generations.
