I am writing to apply for the part-time weekend sales assistant position in your city centre gift shop.

I would like this job because I enjoy working with people and I am interested in gifts and customer service. I am a student at York University, so a weekend job would suit me very well.

I believe I would be good at this job because I am trustworthy, friendly and sociable. I am also polite, responsible and quick to learn. I can work well with customers and help them choose suitable gifts.
