Linkers in the essay: Firstly, also, however, in addition, for example, as a result, finally.

Their purpose:

• Firstly — to introduce the first point
• also — to add another idea
• however — to show contrast
• in addition — to add more information
• for example — to give an example
• as a result — to show the result
• finally — to introduce the last point

Suitable alternatives:

• Firstly → To begin with
• also → moreover
• however → nevertheless
• in addition → furthermore
• for example → for instance
• as a result → therefore
• finally → to conclude
