Phileas Fogg had won his bet and had made his journey around the world in eighty days. To do this, he had used every means of transport: steamers, railways, carriages, yachts, trading-vessels, sledges and elephants.

He had shown his coolness and exactitude throughout the journey. In the end, he brought back nothing but a charming woman, Aouda, who made him the happiest of men.

Answer: The ending is similar to the expected one: Fogg wins the bet and returns with Aouda, whom he marries.
