The March sisters nowadays would probably look more modern. They might wear jeans, T-shirts, trainers and jackets instead of long dresses. Their hairstyles would also be different, and they could use smartphones and other gadgets.

They could be living in a big city, in a small flat or a cosy house in the suburbs. They might study at university or work in different jobs. Meg could be a teacher or a mother, Jo could be a writer or journalist, Beth could work with music or children, and Amy could be an artist or designer.
