The Bolshoi Theatre is one of the most famous and beautiful theatres in the world. It is a masterpiece of Russian neoclassical design and can seat over two thousand people. The theatre has a dramatic history: it was first commissioned in 1776, then damaged by fire in 1805, rebuilt in 1825, and rebuilt again after another fire in 1853.

The Bolshoi is especially famous for ballet. It is the home of the Bolshoi Ballet troupe and has hosted many famous premieres, including Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky. Today, it remains one of the best places in the world to see ballet performances.

My favourite ballet is Swan Lake because it is beautiful, emotional and has wonderful music.
