Keeping animals in zoos: pros and cons

Nowadays, many people disagree about whether animals should be kept in zoos. This is an important issue because zoos can be both useful and controversial.

On the one hand, zoos help protect endangered species and educate the public. For example, children can learn about animals they would never see in the wild. In addition, some zoos take part in breeding programmes, which can save rare animals from extinction.

On the other hand, animals in zoos often live in small spaces and cannot behave naturally. As a result, they may become stressed or unhappy. Moreover, some people believe that wild animals should live freely in their natural habitats, not in cages.

In my opinion, zoos can be acceptable only if they provide excellent conditions for animals and focus on conservation and education.
