The Strange Book
Henry Sugar was very wealthy. All the money he had (1) had been left to him by his rich father, now dead. Henry himself never (2) had never done a day’s work in his life. Possible ending: Henry opened the strange book and found that it contained notes about a secret way of winning at cards. Curious, he read it carefully and soon realized that the book was much more interesting than he had expected. This discovery changed his life completely.
