I’d like to speak about the Tate Modern, one of the most famous art galleries in London. It is situated on the south bank of the River Thames, in the former Bankside Power Station.
The gallery was opened in 2000. It contains a rich collection of modern and contemporary art, including paintings, sculptures, installations and photographs by artists from all over the world.
The Tate Modern does not have many works by old masters, because it mainly focuses on modern art. However, it is still one of the most important art galleries in the world. It is very large and attracts millions of visitors every year.
I have chosen to speak about it because it is a famous place that shows how interesting and unusual modern art can be.
