The Titanic was the greatest ship of its time. It was a supership and a floating palace. It set sail on 10 April. After three days at sea, it received iceberg warnings.

Then danger came. An iceberg was straight ahead, but it was too late to avoid it. Water began to gush in and flooded one compartment after another. There were not enough boats for all the passengers. Radio operators kept calling for help, but other ships either didn’t hear the signal or were too far away.

In the end, the Titanic sank. Many people found themselves in the cold water of the North Atlantic Ocean and froze to death. The Carpathia came to rescue the survivors, took them aboard, and headed for New York.
