Together try to answer the following questions.
What does progress in science and technology do more — good or harm? Is it possible for the mankind to stop using new technologies to make life on our planet more secure? Is it likely to happen in the future?

Progress in science and technology gives humanity many advantages: it makes life easier, faster and more comfortable; helps people communicate; improves medicine; saves time and labour; gives access to information; and makes transport and work more efficient.

At the same time, it takes away some things: it can reduce face-to-face communication; make people more dependent on machines; cause pollution and environmental problems; create new dangers, such as cybercrime and weapons; and sometimes make life too artificial.

In my opinion, progress does more good than harm, because it helps people solve many important problems and improves the quality of life. However, it should be used carefully and responsibly.

It is unlikely that mankind will stop using new technologies, because they are already an important part of modern life. But people can and should control their use to make life on our planet safer.
