One scientific fact that once surprised me was the discovery that the Earth is not the center of the universe. I learned about it in a history of science lesson at school when we were studying astronomy. At first, it was hard to believe, because for a long time people thought that everything moved around the Earth.

I was surprised because this idea changed the whole view of the universe. It was a discovery in astronomy, and it showed how science can completely change our understanding of the world. I discussed it with my classmates after the lesson, and we talked about how brave scientists had to be to prove such ideas.

After that, I wanted to learn more about famous astronomers and their discoveries. It made me look deeper into the problem and read more about the solar system and the history of astronomy.
