7 You have received a letter from your pen friend. In her letter she writes:

6. Comment on one of the statements.
I would like to comment on the statement that robots will replace humans in many spheres in the future. In my opinion, this will happen only partly. Robots are already widely used in industry, medicine and transport, and their role will certainly grow. They can work faster than people, do dangerous jobs and make fewer mistakes. That is why they are very useful in many areas.
However, I do not think robots will completely replace humans. First, people are better at understanding emotions, making moral decisions and showing creativity. Second, many professions need personal communication, sympathy and responsibility, and machines cannot fully provide these qualities. For example, teachers, doctors and artists will still be needed, even if technology develops greatly.
I do not agree with the idea that robots will take over all human jobs because technology is only a tool. It can help people and make life easier, but it cannot replace human intelligence, feelings and experience. So, in the future robots will probably work together with humans rather than instead of them.
7. Letter to Louise
Dear Louise,
Thanks for your letter. I’m glad to hear from you.
As for my marks, I’m mostly satisfied with them, but I know I can improve them. My total result is not bad, but it can definitely be better. It depends on how hard I work, how well I prepare for tests and how carefully I do my written papers.
I found the material of Unit 4 interesting and useful. It helped me revise grammar and vocabulary, and some texts made me think about the future, technology and global problems. The tasks were not always easy, but they were really helpful. I especially remember the writing tasks because they taught me to express my opinion clearly.

My Future as I See It
In the future I see myself as a successful and independent person. I hope I will get a good education and find an interesting job that I will enjoy. I would like to live in a big city, because there are more opportunities there, but I also want to have a quiet and comfortable home.
I think I will have a family and close friends around me. Family is very important, because it gives support and happiness. I also plan to use English every day, especially for work, travel and communication with people from other countries.
In my free time I would like to read, travel, listen to music and do sports. These activities will help me stay active and positive. What will make me happy is a peaceful life, success in my studies and work, and the chance to help other people.
I believe my country will become more modern and developed, while still keeping its traditions and culture. I hope the future will be bright and full of new opportunities.
