When you read a text aloud, pay attention to:

Clarity – speak in a loud clear voice.
Pronunciation – say the difficult words to yourself as you read the text silently.
Intonation read with expression, not a monotone.
Rhythm – when you read with rhythm, the text flows.
Preparing for the task
1 Listen to the text. Then listen again and read the text aloud at the same time, copying the reader.
The Moscow Metro is one of the best underground train systems in the world. It was opened in 1935 as an eleven-kilometre line through the city centre. There were thirteen stations. Today It has 196 stations and covers 327 kilometres. Its twelve lines carry 6.73 million passengers every day.
