Dear Tom,

I’m writing to tell you about the most amazing experience of my life. I was in the Amazon rainforest with a group of explorers last month. We were travelling along a river when our boat suddenly stopped because of a fallen tree.

We had to continue on foot, and that was when the adventure really began. We heard strange animal sounds all around us, and the air was hot and wet. I could smell damp earth, flowers and smoke from our campfire. We saw bright birds, huge butterflies and even a monkey jumping from tree to tree.

At first I was nervous, but then I felt excited and happy to be there. It was difficult, but unforgettable. I’ll never forget the beauty of the jungle and the feeling of being so far from home.
