8. Listen to a student talking about the photos. What comparisons and contrasts did the student make? Which of the family groups would the student prefer to be part of and why?

The photos are similar because they both show families doing something together. However, the first photo shows a nuclear family with two young children watching a sports programme on TV in their living room. The second photo shows an extended family with grandparents, parents and three children running on a beach. The second family seems to lead a healthier lifestyle because they spend time outdoors and do sport.

I would prefer to be part of the extended family in the second photo. I would enjoy running as part of a group and being with a large family, since I am an only child. I also love the sea, but I do not often have the opportunity to spend time on the coast.
