Dear Jane,
Well, here I am in Africa. It’s much hotter than I thought it would be and drier too. But it’s so beautiful. I knew Kenya would be beautiful, but I have to admit I 1) hadn’t expected that it would be so thrilling. Anyway, after 2) arriving yesterday it took us a couple of hours to get from the airport to the safari lodge. As we 3) drove I saw lots of wild animals on the way, mostly antelope and zebra, so I can’t wait to see something really exciting, like a lion.
We thought about staying in a tent for a more authentic experience, but now I’m glad we 4) decided to stay in the safari lodge. I think a tent 5) would have been really uncomfortable.
Well, I’m off to get some breakfast now and then we are taking a jeep into the Serengeti National Park. I am hoping we 6) will see lots of different kinds of animals. It’s only the first day and I 7) am enjoying myself already.
