Replacing books with computers in schools has both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, computers make learning more modern and convenient. In addition, digital textbooks are lighter than paper books, so pupils do not have to carry heavy bags. Computers also help teachers make lessons more interesting and varied.
On the other hand, there are some serious drawbacks. First, reading from a screen can be tiring for the eyes. Second, not all students can concentrate well when using computers, because they may get distracted by games or social media. Another problem is that computers are expensive, and schools need money for devices, repairs and internet access. Also, paper books do not depend on electricity or technical problems, so they are often more reliable.
In my opinion, computers should not completely replace books in schools. The best solution is to use both. Computers can be a useful tool for learning, but books are still important for reading, studying and revision. A balanced combination of traditional and digital resources is the most effective way to educate students.
