1 The following extracts (A-F) are beginnings or endings of emails or letters. In each case:

A Thanks for inviting us to your party. Of course, we’d love to come! We’re really looking forward to it.
B The standards of service I received were not acceptable. I hope this matter can be resolved as soon as possible.
C I am writing in regard to the post of Junior Manager as advertised in the Evening Telegraph this week. I would like you to consider me for the post as I believe I possess all the skills that make me suitable for this position.
D Well done on passing your exams. We hear you passed with flying colours. Your grandparents are very proud of you.
E Sadly, I won’t be able to make it to your New Year’s party. I’m spending the New Year in New York. Maybe we can meet up when I get back.
F I am writing to request information about Macbeth, the play being staged at your theatre this season. I am planning a visit for my class and wish to know some details about performance times and prices.
