• Isaac Newton — an English scientist and mathematician; discovered the law of gravity; wrote Principia.
• William Shakespeare — an English playwright and poet; wrote many famous plays and sonnets; one of the greatest writers in English literature.
• Nelson Mandela — a South African leader; fought against apartheid; became the first black president of South Africa.
